A Short Introduction to an unconference
The unconference format is new to IEEE EMBS, but it has been used by others to organize hundreds of meetings. The Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council has organized a successful annual meeting using this format since 2008. The video below is a short report of the experience of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council with the unconference format.
The purpose of the day is to bring together all those who care about addressing key challenges in the translation of technology from the lab to the field around wearable and ubiquitous technology for health and wellness.
The unconference means that the agenda/schedule for the day will be created live the day of the event – yes this works! We are working with Kaliya Hamlin, one of the world’s leading experts in designing and facilitating Unconferences. It will be good, possibly one of the best conferences you ever attend. In the Boston region, she is the designer and facilitator of the MassTLC Innovation conferences.
The real time nature means that emerging developments can be discussed and new ideas and unfolding research can be explored. Bring your ideas, knowledge and enthusiasm to this event and you will get a lot out of it!
